Each city has its own way to issue a ticket with different regulations, different proofs to provide, the possibility to dismiss certain vehicles. Cities receive more disputes and do not have necessarily all proofs to ensure the infraction.
Moreover, there are tickets not issued due to violent circumstances.

Starting with scenarios, the main one was for the agent to control license plates. There were 3 main things to check if there was a violation:

  • The license plate

  • The regulation depending on the location

  • The time

The time could be used by the system, bye bye the watch! The regulation could also be determined automatically (with a manual verification for accuracy). Devices are all equipped with cameras to take picture, bye bye pen!
The goal was to transform the agent task from calculation to verification avoiding mistakes. With the 3 previous parameters automatically filled, the system would determined if there was a violation and it would not be a human decision.
If a violation was detected, I found an API that can give all informations relative to a license plate (Make, Model, Color, Year, Owner, Address), all fields would be directly filled and it would be easy for an agent to print a ticket very quickly.
